Morocco

Morocco’s best version here is Marrakech culture plus a slow Essaouira coast stay, reached through a matched in-cap Casablanca itinerary. It is a conditional design to inspect, not an affordable observed offer: current central references exceed the firm ceiling and unsupported bag/surface/insurance scenarios block comparative value and buy recommendations. Official Indian Category A eVisa and French airside transit evidence materially improve the old document assessment.

Advisor memo

Morocco: Marrakech and the Atlantic coast, but the fare must earn its budget

My recommendation

I would build Morocco around six nights in Marrakech and four in Essaouira, with one Casablanca night at each end. I would use the December 23 to January 5 window, not stretch the trip back to December 19 just because those extra days are available. The best supported route in this research is through Casablanca: the selected two-person flight itinerary is a USD 3,978 aggregator lead. Google displays 15h20 outward and 15h55 homeward, but the listed local clock times give approximately 14h20 and 16h55 using the winter time zones. Both readings are below your 24-hour cap; exact times still require airline confirmation. This is not an airline-direct fare with checked baggage and cancellation conditions verified.

The working total is USD 7,730.02 for two, above your firm USD 7,000 ceiling. The component spending cases run from USD 6,995.43 to USD 9,366.50, but these are not market price bounds: the low case changes activities and includes unverified baggage, insurance and surface-spending choices. I would not describe a low case just below your ceiling as evidence that the trip is affordable. The result that would change my view is a genuinely inclusive, documented total below the ceiling, with a disruption reserve still intact.

Entry is more approachable than the old assessment suggested. Morocco explicitly lists ordinary Indian passports in its Category A eVisa route; the standard fee is 770 MAD per person, with three business days stated for complete applications. You do not need to manufacture a dependence on a US visa for this listed nationality route. Eligibility is not approval, and actual passport validity still needs checking. December 17 is a derived application-planning date for the December 23 departure, counting three subsequent business days and excluding the submission day; it is not an official guarantee or advice to wait until then.

Why this trip fits the two of you

Morocco earns its place primarily through food and culture. Marrakech offers palace craft, a former college, the living medina, photography and a market-to-kitchen day. Essaouira then changes the scale: a compact fortified port, working boats, coastal walks and time to linger over lunch. I would rather give those two places room than turn the holiday into a succession of train platforms and riad check-ins.

The beach preference is served honestly, but partially. Essaouira is a coast stay, not a promise of December swimming. Kim Roberts, writing after an extended stay for The Unconventional Route in 2023, found the Atlantic cold and rough and did not swim. Her account makes me favor the promenade and sea-view stay over a weather-dependent beach-activity package. It is personal experience, not a forecast, but it asks exactly the right question: would you still like the town if you never entered the water?

Winter scenery is a secondary possibility, not the foundation. A short Ourika excursion can add foothill villages and river scenery if conditions and the exact service are suitable. I would not add a Toubkal summit, a promise of snow or a long winter pass crossing. FCDO explicitly warns about winter flooding and hazardous mountain roads in poor weather. You can enjoy Morocco without making a mountain day the fragile center of the trip.

Jonny Verman’s Finding Our Adventure December guide, published in 2025, distinguishes quieter early December from the Christmas and New Year period. That matters more than a general claim that winter is low season. Your dates sit in the holiday period, and the lodging search must use them. A generic October nightly price is not a useful substitute. The earlier authorized window adds four days and nights; the flight screens did not establish enough savings or experience gain to justify adopting it here.

How the trip unfolds

Arrive through Casablanca without rushing straight into the holiday

The selected outbound leaves SFO on December 23 and reaches Casablanca on December 24. I would make the arrival afternoon about immigration, the ride into town, a light meal and sleep. After an overnight flight, a booked afternoon attraction creates pressure rather than pleasure. The first Casablanca night is a recovery cost, not wasted time.

Ryad 91 is the practical arrival and return lead, in the old-medina/Casa Port area. Its public rating is 8.4 out of 10, but that does not settle the room choice. Kenneth, in a displayed guest review without a date, described a repeat stay with a room that felt small for two and a breakfast that disappointed compared with other riads. I would ask about the exact room, heating and bag approach. More importantly, the room tables show members-only reduced prices. The original USD 72 and USD 86 figures used here are undiscounted public references, not proven obtainable no-login offers.

If you are rested, December 25 can include the regular morning guided visit at Hassan II Mosque, followed by a short neighborhood walk and an early lunch before the Marrakech transfer. The foundation explains the visit through its prayer, minaret and ablution halls and the Moroccan craft inside them. This is a reason to spend a little time in Casablanca, not an attempt to turn it into another full base. Its seasonal winter Friday timetable differs from the generic homepage, so I would use the seasonal schedule and still confirm any holiday notice.

Give Marrakech enough time to become legible

I would put you at Riad Dar Habiba, near the southern medina’s Jemaa and Bahia area, for six nights. Its small scale and location make it an appealing cultural base. The actual available lead, however, is a high-floor Triple Room, not a room category I would rename to sound better. The six-night breakfast-included row is non-refundable. That is a substantive objection while airfare and documents are not settled, and I would prefer a sensible refundable substitute over pretending this room is already the answer.

Begin with Bahia Palace, then the Koutoubia exterior and gardens. Bahia matters because the courtyards and decorative spaces make the domestic palace world tangible. Koutoubia is a contrasting open-air landmark, not another interior religious visit. I would leave room between them for lunch and rest. The first full day should not require you to navigate the entire medina at once.

Next, visit Ben Youssef Medersa and Le Jardin Secret. At the former college, look beyond the central courtyard to the student rooms, carved wood, plaster and calligraphy. It is architecture built around learning and daily life, not only a photograph. The garden then gives the afternoon a quieter rhythm. Its tower is optional if stairs or weather make it unattractive; I have counted it in the central ticket basket, but not made it indispensable to the trip.

Maison de la Photographie earns its own morning. The archive gives another way of reading Morocco’s people and places and makes a useful indoor winter visit. Its ticket also grants access to the music museum, but I have not assumed that the second venue’s holiday hours are checked. After a pause, follow some craft lanes toward Jemaa at dusk. UNESCO describes the square as a cultural space of food, music and oral traditions. I would watch, eat and return by a familiar route, rather than photograph animal handlers or let an unsolicited guide choose the evening.

One day is reserved for Ourika, conditional on the exact December departure and current conditions. The public shared-tour reference includes transport and a local waterfall-walk guide, but no December departures are published. The operator describes a rocky walk, while official safety advice warns about winter river flooding. I would choose dry, safe village scenery or cancel the outing entirely rather than insist on a waterfall. The fallback is city culture and a sheltered afternoon, not a different unquoted mountain rescue plan.

The final Marrakech day is a morning market visit and cooking class. Shopping with a cooking host and preparing the meal earns the time in a way that another souvenir circuit does not. Rachel’s September 2026 Cookly review of Chef Khmisa’s class describes the pleasure of step-by-step recipes and something to recreate at home. That supports the participatory format; it is not a review of the different supplier priced in this circuit. The public Rachid class includes ingredients and the meal, so its two lunches are removed from the ordinary meal basket. El Badi’s ruins can fit later only if the class finishes early enough and energy and opening hours permit. I would omit it rather than rush a closing gate.

Change pace on the Atlantic coast

Move to Essaouira on December 31. I would leave after breakfast, settle in during the property’s stated check-in window and make the afternoon a simple orientation: medina, main square and safe public port approaches. A normal dinner is a defensible New Year plan. A guaranteed street celebration, special menu or late transport arrangement is not something this research established.

Riad Zawia is the lower-room-cost coast lead: a King Suite with Sea View, rated 9.1 out of 10 on the public page. Breakfast is not included in the selected row and is budgeted separately. Its direct site confirms the requested dates and two adults, but uses different room names and does not establish the same inclusive suite total. I would verify the match, heating and stairs before choosing between it and Riad Emotion.

New Year’s Day is deliberately slow: the Sqala du Port if the holiday notice and weather permit, then the working waterfront and a restaurant lunch. The fortification matters because it explains why the port and city were built this way. It is not simply a view to collect. On the following day, walk the beach promenade and a small new-town food circuit. Kim Roberts’ warning about the tourist buy-fish-and-grill ritual makes me prefer a restaurant menu with a clear price. Her old prices and sweeping safety claims are not adopted here.

Keep the last coast day for craft lanes, a sea-wall approach in calm daylight, reading and packing. Four nights buy weather slack and a real change of pace. They will feel excessive to someone who needs a new major attraction every morning; that is the strongest experience argument against my plan. I would rather say that plainly than fill the day with invented free tours.

Position before the early flight home

Return to Casablanca on January 4. The reference road journey is about four hours, before access and traffic slack. This is a positioning day: confirm the car, documents and early airport routine, eat and sleep. The selected return leaves at 05:00 on January 5 and arrives at SFO that same day. It is not a comfortable hotel-breakfast morning, and no breakfast service is presumed available before leaving.

The selected CDG connections are short: 70 minutes outward and 60 minutes homeward. Both flights being shown together is not a guarantee that every transfer will work. I would require the airline to confirm the through ticket, bag arrangements and protection. No separate-ticket or airport-change shortcut is part of the recommendation.

What it will really cost

The central arithmetic is USD 4,178 flights, 1,295.15 lodging, 799.85 meals, 503.92 surface transport, 403.10 admissions/tours/visas, and 550 insurance/reserve: USD 7,730.02 for two. These are mixed evidence types. The USD 3,978 matched airfare is observed on the aggregator; the added USD 200 checked-bag amount is an unsupported spending scenario, not an airline fee. The flight line cannot honestly be called baggage-inclusive.

The twelve-night lodging model includes six Dar Habiba nights, four Zawia nights and two separately dated Casablanca nights. VAT and city taxes are added from the selected room tables. Breakfast is included at Dar and the Ryad reference rows, but not at Zawia. That distinction matters: paying for the same breakfast twice would make the comparison misleading. The taxes are visible workings, not an asserted final card charge.

Meals are a basket rather than a daily lump: ordinary lunch and dinner portions, one premium Nomad dinner with its published nine-percent service charge, eight coast breakfasts, drinks and a separate travel-food spending case. Marrakech menus are explicit spending proxies for meals in Casablanca and Essaouira, not their actual restaurant quotes. The activity line includes the official eVisa fees once. Cooking includes lunch; Ourika does not. The reserve and unquoted insurance-premium case are shown separately from admissions.

The lowest component case, USD 6,995.43, is too close to the ceiling to give comfort. It uses carry-on-only airfare assumptions, lower menu baskets, reduced surface-spending choices and fewer activities, including dropping weather-dependent Ourika and El Badi. It is not the complete central itinerary at a guaranteed cheaper price. The high case, USD 9,366.50, changes the airfare seller/spending assumptions, coastal stay, meals and reserve. It is not a measured worst case either.

I cannot defensibly rank experience per dollar while those unsupported pieces remain. The practical value judgment is narrower: Casablanca’s matched lead makes a credible version worth checking; it does not yet make this Morocco trip good value under your constraint. Airfare is the largest lever. The initial Marrakech Air France USD 4,574 display looked more competitive until selecting a return showed an over-24-hour journey. An in-cap pairing rose to USD 5,590. That is why selecting both directions matters.

Where this can go wrong

The most immediate failure is paying for a non-refundable room while the flight still has unverified bags, conditions and tight connections. Dar Habiba’s room lead is not a flexible placeholder. The reference coast cancellation dates also need reading carefully; earlier cancellation is not automatically better flexibility. Changing a room or losing a prepaid night can absorb much of a modest reserve.

Winter can also expose an unsuitable stay. A pretty courtyard is not proof that the exact room is heated, quiet or easy to reach with bags. Ask about those practical details. On the coast, choose walks and indoor rests rather than insist on a swim. In the foothills, current road and flood advice overrides a supplier’s general description of an easy walk.

Official-looking sources can disagree. Emotion’s direct terms say displayed rates include VAT, while Booking’s selected row excludes it. The Hassan II generic homepage and seasonal visit timetable differ. The Ministry’s El Badi description appears to reuse another palace’s history. I have not turned those conflicts into certainty: the tax remains unresolved, the seasonal hours are used with a holiday check and the questionable construction history is omitted.

Someone seeking effortless warm beach days, reliable snow or no repacking should not choose this version. It involves an overnight flight, short connections, several surface moves and an early return. Your valid US stamps and re-entry permission are user-attested; neither this research nor an eVisa replaces checking each traveler’s actual documents.

The best alternative

The strongest priced stay alternative is the same circuit with Riad Emotion instead of Zawia. It offers included breakfast, strong guest feedback and sheltered sitting space. The Booking-tax-selector model raises lodging by USD 312.40; removing the eight separately budgeted café-menu breakfast spending proxies offsets part of that, leaving a modelled net premium of USD 238.40 and a central total of USD 7,968.42. Its component cases are USD 7,179.94–9,292.50: even this variant’s low spending case exceeds your ceiling. The VAT conflict could change those workings, but a credit-card benefit is not subtracted to make the option appear cheaper. No MAD90 Zawia hotel breakfast quote was obtained: the breakfast figures come from Café des Épices menus as an explicitly labelled spending proxy.

A Marrakech-only stay is a legitimate pace alternative, not an assumed saving. The actual ten-night Dar Habiba check returned a room-only lead with free cancellation before December 11, 2026, not open-ended refundability, and a higher non-refundable breakfast-included row. The simpler plan reduces packing and coastal uncertainty but loses the sea, small-city scale and the pause that makes this circuit worthwhile. I would switch to it if the coastal stay or transfer confirmation fails and a properly priced flexible Marrakech stay works, not just because staying put sounds economical.

What to check next

  • First, resolve the full flight. Use Air France or KLM’s two-adult public controls for the same core SFO–CMN dates and verify both flights, bags, ticket protection and fare conditions. Their handoffs retained the correct trip but stalled without a fare result here. A real inclusive total, not the old display, decides whether the budget has a chance.
  • Then resolve rooms and taxes. Match the exact Dar, Zawia and two Ryad dates to a publicly obtainable room total, with heating/access and written refund/payment terms. Consider a refundable Marrakech substitute. If the charge or room does not match, change the plan rather than accept the reference as an offer.
  • Finish the official entry process yourself. Accès Maroc lists the application order, scans, photo and insurance requirements. Check the actual passport selectors and obtain each approval. Agents have not logged in, applied or paid. French airside exemption does not authorize a visit outside the airport’s international zone.
  • Reconcile the ceiling before committing. Replace the bag, insurance and surface scenarios, keep a reserve and recompute the total. If it still exceeds USD 7,000, I would not ask you to raise the ceiling or quietly remove necessary costs.
  • Confirm the surface legs and selected activity dates. Written holiday availability, luggage, pickup and cancellation terms matter, especially the early January 5 airport ride. Weather or an unavailable Ourika departure should trigger the city fallback, not a rushed substitute.
  • Treat Chase Travel as optional upside. Public Chase evidence supports Royal Mansour’s The Edit membership, not these shortlisted riads. You may check your own portal; no agent sign-in or assumed credit is part of the budget.

The workings behind the memo

Entry And Visa Lead Time

For an Indian passport holder. US re-entry is user-attested, not verified.

Entry routee-visa: Official terms list India in ordinary-passport Category A, passport valid at least90 days from application. Public checker (India, US residence, ordinary passport, tourist, USA visa, no event) directed to eVisa. Category A does not require US supporting visa; individual approval/current passport selector still must be checked. One entry, up to30-day stay, visa valid up to180 days.
Lead time6 days

Feasible before departureYes
US visa dependencyNone for listed Indian ordinary-passport Category A; US-stamp validity is separately user-attested for re-entry. Category C multiple-entry sticker visa valid90 days is a different route and not substituted for Category A.
TransitSelected SFO–CDG–CMN and reverse only. Official French decree effective10April2026 exempts ordinary Indian airside transit. Stay international/through-ticket/through-bags; leaving airside or intra-Schengen flight needs separate assessment. Short CDG70/60min connections and protection still airline checks.
FeesStandard770MAD/person, party1540MAD≈USD158.28 at reference FX; express1100MAD/person, not budgeted. Fee non-refundable after validation/payment.
Where to applyUser applies online from the SF Bay Area through https://www.acces-maroc.ma/#/e-visa, not an agent/visa-assistance site. No consular appointment is needed for this supported ordinary-passport Category A route; nonordinary/ineligible cases require the official consulate route and a new timeline.
Application steps
  1. 1. Verify eligibility on Accès Maroc using actual nationality, passport type, residence and purpose; choose the supported ordinary Indian Category A route.
  2. 2. User enters each application accurately from passport; two travelers may group files as the official terms allow.
  3. 3. Attach required recent35×45mm color photo and clear color passport identity/validity pages; JPG/JPEG/PDF, each≤1MB. Supporting residence/visa copy only if the selected category requires it.
  4. 4. Check all fields/documents, validate and pay the official standard770MAD/person or chosen express fee; validated paid requests cannot be cancelled/refunded.
  5. 5. User tracks the application in their own account, supplies any requested correction, then carries the approved eVisa with passport, return/funds/insurance evidence. Agents do not sign in or submit.
Documents to prepare
  • Ordinary passport and clear color identity/validity-page scan; verify current passport validity selector and entire trip coverage.
  • Recent color35×45mm face photograph taken within six months, ICAO-conforming, clear quality.
  • JPG/JPEG/PDF attachments, each no larger than1MB per official terms.
  • Approved printed/digital eVisa, return ticket and bank card or required equivalent cash-funds evidence for border checks.
  • Hospital/sanitary-repatriation insurance covering the stay; actual policy and premium unverified.
  • If user deliberately uses Category B/C rather than A, valid residence permit or multiple-entry nonelectronic visa copy with the official category-specific validity; do not confuse a work permit with a residence card.
Next actionUser verifies passport/category/current processing/calendar, applies with correctly scanned files and obtains approvals/required insurance. Options And Value

Planning confidence: provisional; route timing, closures and reservations need confirmation. Booking readiness: not verified. Ratings are qualitative labels with a stated basis, not numerical scores.

Option 1: Morocco

Value rating: Not assessable

Sourced fare/room references support the itinerary but checked bags, [private artifact omitted] surface costs and insurance remain unsupported scenarios. Central case is above the firm ceiling; low case is not a market bound or proof of affordability.

Compared with: Compared with the sourced Riad Emotion coastal variant: same routing/nights, more expensive lodging but breakfast included. Compare comfort/cancellation, not invented experience-per-dollar scores.

What changes this rating: Actual bag-inclusive fare, no-login room totals/refund terms, surface confirmations and insurance premium establish an inclusive party cost ≤7,000 with a retained disruption reserve.

Price confidence: Partly observed

Matched two-leg two-adult aggregator fare and exact dated room tables observed; taxes derived, Casablanca references undiscounted, direct fare engines incomplete and other spending lines estimated/scenario-based.

Best experience design here: Marrakech culture at a slow pace, a short conditional Atlas day and an Atlantic medina stay, with arrival recovery and departure positioning in Casablanca. Core dates avoid an unproven expensive 19 December extension.

Not a warm swimming trip. Overnight flight, short CDG connections, early 5 January departure, three long surface moves and non-refundable Marrakech lead. Working central cost exceeds the firm ceiling; unsupported baggage/surface/insurance scenarios prevent a comparative value rank.

Party cost: USD 7,730.02. Travelers: 2. estimate; observed 2026-10-12T18:50:33.201Z.

Assumptions: Core SFO–CDG–CMN round trip, two economy adults. One carry-on each shown; checked bags not priced. The numerical insurance/baggage scenarios make this an unrankable working budget, not a baggage-inclusive offer. Air France/KLM captures are unsuccessful rechecks in pricingEffort, not fare observations. Only the Google matched summary supports the fare reference.

Planning range: USD 3,978 to 4,858. Low uses the same 3,978 fare with carry-on only, subject to airline confirmation. High is the displayed Delta seller 4,458 plus a 400 party bag spending scenario. Neither endpoint is a market bound; re-price actual bag choices.

Sum 1295.15. Total 12 occupied nights; outbound overnight is not a hotel night.

Assumptions: Dar 25–31 Dec breakfast-included non-refundable Triple Room; Zawia 31 Dec–4 Jan King Suite, breakfast extra; Ryad 24–25 Dec and 4–5 Jan Double Rooms with breakfast, original public references rather than members-only amounts. VAT applied to base only, local taxes separately. Xe reference at 18:58 UTC on 12 October 2026: EUR 1 = USD 1.11558712; USD 1 = MAD 9.72976883. Mid-market conversion only, not the rate a card or cash exchange guarantees. No assumed holiday uplift. Final charge, room continuity and refundable substitute remain unverified.

Planning range: USD 1,295.15 to 1,607.55. Same references at low; high replaces Zawia with Emotion using the Booking VAT selector, not an invented holiday multiplier. The two stays have different breakfast/refund terms and are not interchangeable quotes.

Sum MAD 7004, divided by 9.72976883, plus USD 80 travel-food spending scenario = USD 799.85. Twelve local dinners (24 portions), one premium dinner, not twelve premium dinners.

Assumptions: MAD90 breakfasts are Cafe-des-Epices menu spending proxies (saved cafe-menu), NOT a Zawia hotel breakfast quote. Meals at Casablanca/Essaouira and airport scenarios have no destination-specific menus; their amount stays unrankable. Menu references are current but service dates are not booked. Standard baskets use Café des Épices mains/drinks, Nomad has 9% service; ordinary restaurant gratuity is within the chosen meal basket, not an extra double-count. Marrakech menus are explicitly spending proxies for Casablanca/Essaouira, not their actual menu quotes. Breakfast at Dar and Ryad included; early Jan 5 breakfast not assumed served. Travel-food 80 is a scenario, not an airport menu observation. Alcohol and souvenir purchases excluded.

Planning range: USD 615.98 to 1,041.38. Low uses 20 × MAD 90 lunches, 22 × MAD 95 dinners, two Nomad main/drink baskets MAD 220 × 1.09, eight breakfasts MAD 85, same 24 × MAD 15 drinks, and USD 60 travel food. High uses 20 ×145, 22 ×180, two Nomad ×360 ×1.09, eight ×90, 24 ×25 and USD120 travel food. These are explained menus/spending cases, not measured destination meal-price probabilities.

Assumptions: CAB prices are 2025-list references observed on 12 October 2026, not confirmed 2026–27 holiday tariffs. One vehicle for two people; not per-person multiplication. Reference terms include tolls/fuel/parking, cash no surcharge; PayPal adds 10% under supplier terms. Exact holiday pickups, luggage, 02:00 return transfer and reverse city-pair confirmation absent. Local/origin surface figures are unsupported scenarios, so not a comparative value basis. Do not self-transfer international flights.

Planning range: USD 463.92 to 586.32. Low keeps referenced vehicles with a 40 surface-spend case. High adds the stated 10% PayPal charge plus 120 [private artifact omitted] spending. Unknown private-car availability or revised tariffs can exceed either case. Train/coach substitutions remain separate checks, not quoted savings.

Planning range: USD 342.38 to 423.25. Low omits El Badi and weather-dependent Ourika, without claiming the full itinerary for the lower spend. High applies a transparent 5% exchange/payment spending stress, not a holiday-price uplift. Visa refusal, new admission rules or extra guide/tip costs are not bounded.

Option 2: Morocco

Value rating: Not assessable

Sourced fare/room references support the itinerary but checked bags, [private artifact omitted] surface costs and insurance remain unsupported scenarios. Central case is above the firm ceiling; low case is not a market bound or proof of affordability.

Compared with: Compared with the lower-room-cost Zawia circuit: breakfast-included stay and sheltered lounge versus sea-view suite. Booking-derived hotel difference is 312.40; eight modelled breakfasts offset part of that, not card credits.

What changes this rating: Actual bag-inclusive fare, no-login room totals/refund terms, surface confirmations and insurance premium establish an inclusive party cost ≤7,000 with a retained disruption reserve.

Price confidence: Partly observed

Matched two-leg two-adult aggregator fare and exact dated room tables observed; taxes derived, Casablanca references undiscounted, direct fare engines incomplete and other spending lines estimated/scenario-based.

Same two-base core circuit, but pay for Riad Emotion in Essaouira: breakfast-included Gnawa Room, highly rated hospitality, sheltered lounge and easier food planning. The experience gain is the stay, not a new route.

Higher coastal price; cancellation before Dec17 is much earlier than arrival. Direct/Booking VAT wording conflicts; wrong-date EUR600 direct lead is excluded. Central case is still over USD7,000.

Party cost: USD 7,968.42. Travelers: 2. estimate; observed 2026-10-12T18:50:33.201Z.

2026-12-23 to 2027-01-05

Party cost lineUSDBasisCalculation, assumptions and sources
Flights4,178unsupported budget scenarioUSD 3,978 aggregator matched party fare + USD 200 unpriced checked-bag spending scenario = USD 4,178. The 200 is not a fee quote. Both legs were selected; no one-person multiplication.

Hotels1,607.55partly observedSame Dar and Ryad components 737.56 + 205.22; Emotion 580 ×1.10 + (4 nights ×2 people ×EUR3 ×1.11558712) = 664.77. Sum 1607.55. Twelve nights, one room. Booking VAT selector used; direct inclusive-VAT wording preserved as a source conflict.

Assumptions: Dar 25–31 Dec breakfast-included non-refundable Triple Room; Zawia 31 Dec–4 Jan King Suite, breakfast extra; Ryad 24–25 Dec and 4–5 Jan Double Rooms with breakfast, original public references rather than members-only amounts. VAT applied to base only, local taxes separately. Xe reference at 18:58 UTC on 12 October 2026: EUR 1 = USD 1.11558712; USD 1 = MAD 9.72976883. Mid-market conversion only, not the rate a card or cash exchange guarantees. No assumed holiday uplift. Final charge, room continuity and refundable substitute remain unverified.

Planning range: USD 1,549.55 to 1,607.55. Low removes the disputed 10% VAT from Emotion only, reflecting direct terms, not an assumed discount; high follows the Booking exclusion selector. Neither resolves the final supplier charge.

Meals725.85unsupported budget scenario20 paid lunch portions at MAD 115 (22 local lunches minus two included cooking-class lunches); 22 ordinary dinner portions at MAD 135 plus two Nomad portions at MAD 300 × 1.09; 8 Zawia breakfast portions at MAD 90; 24 additional tea/water portions at MAD 15. Sum MAD 7004, divided by 9.72976883, plus USD 80 travel-food spending scenario = USD 799.85. Twelve local dinners (24 portions), one premium dinner, not twelve premium dinners. Remove eight breakfast portions ×MAD90 ÷9.72976883 because Emotion includes breakfast. Revised party meals USD725.85.

Planning range: USD 546.09 to 967.38. Low uses 20 × MAD 90 lunches, 22 × MAD 95 dinners, two Nomad main/drink baskets MAD 220 × 1.09, eight breakfasts MAD 85, same 24 × MAD 15 drinks, and USD 60 travel food. High uses 20 ×145, 22 ×180, two Nomad ×360 ×1.09, eight ×90, 24 ×25 and USD120 travel food. These are explained menus/spending cases, not measured destination meal-price probabilities.

Ground transport503.92unsupported budget scenario2025-list reference calculation, not a current exact-date offer: Private vehicle references: CMN–Casablanca 2 × EUR30; Casablanca–Marrakech EUR120 (reverse of the published city pair, subject to confirmation); Marrakech–Essaouira EUR70; Essaouira–Casablanca EUR130 = EUR380 × 1.11558712 = 423.92. Plus USD80 unsourced local-taxi/porter/origin-surface spending basket (four taxi pairs at USD15 plus four porter/origin contributions at USD5) = 503.92.

Assumptions: CAB prices are 2025-list references observed on 12 October 2026, not confirmed 2026–27 holiday tariffs. One vehicle for two people; not per-person multiplication. Reference terms include tolls/fuel/parking, cash no surcharge; PayPal adds 10% under supplier terms. Exact holiday pickups, luggage, 02:00 return transfer and reverse city-pair confirmation absent. Local/origin surface figures are unsupported scenarios, so not a comparative value basis. Do not self-transfer international flights.

Planning range: USD 463.92 to 586.32. Low keeps referenced vehicles with a 40 surface-spend case. High adds the stated 10% PayPal charge plus 120 [private artifact omitted] spending. Unknown private-car availability or revised tariffs can exceed either case. Train/coach substitutions remain separate checks, not quoted savings.

Activities403.1derivedTwo adults: Hassan II 280 MAD; Bahia 200; El Badi 200; Ben Youssef 100; Photography 160; Secret Garden + tower 280; Sqala du Port 120 = MAD1340. Cooking EUR60 and Ourika EUR36 = EUR96. Entry eVisas MAD1540. MAD2880 ÷ 9.72976883 + EUR96 × 1.11558712 = USD 403.1. Cooking lunch is removed from meals; Ourika lunch is not included and remains in meals.

Assumptions: Admissions are official reference tariffs, not reserved holiday slots. Cooking/Ourika public operator prices include the stated service and require date confirmation; 7-day advance-payment cancellation reference. Visa fees non-refundable after validation/payment. EUR/MAD options from the operator are not FX-equivalent: EUR selected consistently for its services. Majorelle is an optional swap, NOT included or promised priced. Guides/tips/additional activities need separate user quotes.

Insurance and contingency550unsupported budget scenarioUSD400 cash reserve for disruption/one replacement room/surface delays + USD150 unsupported insurance-premium spending scenario = USD550. This is not an insurance quote. eVisa fee is included once in activities, not again here.

Assumptions: Reserve is a researcher planning choice, not an observed premium or an asserted worst-case bound. Official eVisa terms require hospital/sanitary repatriation insurance; actual policy premium, covered activities, pre-existing conditions and exclusions need the user’s own quote. No card benefit is deducted.

Planning range: USD 300 to 850. Low = 200 reserve + 100 unquoted premium scenario; high = 600 reserve + 250 unquoted premium. Both are spending choices, not supported premium ranges. The candidate stays Not assessable for value until actual missing costs are known.

Decision summary

I would research the Marrakech–Essaouira circuit through Casablanca, not pretend Morocco is already a sub-ceiling holiday offer.

The matched SFO–CMN aggregator itinerary is 3,978 for two with 15h20 outbound and 15h55 return. That is a more useful route than the old 4,361 January2 lead, which uses obsolete dates. The proposed 12 occupied nights are one arrival night, six Marrakech, four Essaouira and one Casablanca return night. The working case is 7730.02; it is not a bookable total or proof of affordability. https://www.google.com/travel/flights · https://www.booking.com/hotel/ma/dar-habiba.html?checkin=2026-12-25&checkout=2026-12-31&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&selected_currency=USD · https://www.booking.com/hotel/ma/riad-zawia.html?checkin=2026-12-31&checkout=2027-01-04&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&selected_currency=USD · https://www.booking.com/hotel/ma/ryad-91.html?checkin=2026-12-24&checkout=2026-12-25&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&selected_currency=USD · https://www.booking.com/hotel/ma/ryad-91.html?checkin=2027-01-04&checkout=2027-01-05&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&selected_currency=USD

This route serves food, architecture, markets and coastal walks. It trades away reliable warm-water swimming and guaranteed snow. UNESCO supports the medina/port significance; the judgment is that a slower coastal finish earns more than another hurried imperial-city transfer. https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/331/ · https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/753/ · https://www.theunconventionalroute.com/essaouira-travel-blog/

Entry and transit

India’s ordinary-passport Category A eVisa route is supported; each approval and actual travel document still needs user verification.

Official eVisa terms explicitly list India in Category A, ordinary passport valid at least 90 days from application. Supporting US multiple-entry visa/residence rules apply to other categories, not a required dependency for the listed Indian Category A route. Portal shows standard 770 MAD/3 business days and express 1,100 MAD/1 business day; single entry, up to30-day stay and180-day visa validity. Fees non-refundable after validation/payment; incomplete/false applications do not receive the service-time promise. https://www.acces-maroc.ma/ · https://www.acces-maroc.ma/assets/docs/Conditions%20utilisation%20eVisa%20-%20An.pdf

France in India officially removed airside airport transit visas for ordinary Indian passports from10 April2026. Selected route has one CDG international connection each direction, no airport change. This does not authorize leaving airside or taking an intra-Schengen connection; airline should confirm through ticket/bags and terminals. US stamps/re-entry and remote work are user-attested10 October, not independently inspected. Core trip needs no remote work; tourism eVisa is not independent proof of permission to work. https://in.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/france-lifts-airport-transit-visa-requirements-indian-nationals · https://www.france-visas.gouv.fr/en/visa-de-transit-aeroportuaire · https://www.acces-maroc.ma/assets/docs/Conditions%20utilisation%20eVisa%20-%20An.pdf

Official terms require passport/eVisa on boarding and at border, and may require return ticket, supporting document if used, international bank card or cash exceeding EUR70/person/day, and hospital/sanitary-repatriation insurance. The bank-card option is not a mandatory daily cash spending budget. No passport/payment identifiers are collected. https://www.acces-maroc.ma/assets/docs/Conditions%20utilisation%20eVisa%20-%20An.pdf

Climate and weather

Winter is a walking-season compromise, not a beach or mountain forecast.

WeatherSpark describes Marrakech’s cool season17 November–7 March and January reference low44°F/high66°F. Its shortest2026 day has10h05 daylight on21 December. Rainy-season statistics and 1980–2016 reconstructed/hourly climatology do not predict these exact dates. Schedule palace walks in daylight, take layers and plan indoor culture rather than a pool-led stay. https://weatherspark.com/y/32742/Average-Weather-in-Marrakesh-Morocco-Year-Round

The Atlantic finish adds wind and cool/rough-water risk. Kim Roberts, after an extended Essaouira stay, says swimming was unappealing and favors restaurant-menu seafood over the tourist buy-and-grill ritual. Jonny Verman’s2025 December guide distinguishes early-month quieter travel from the Christmas/New Year peak. FCDO warns of winter flash flooding and hazardous secondary/mountain roads in poor weather; operator’s Ourika walk can be rocky30–45 minutes each way. Keep that excursion conditional and substitute a city museum/garden, not a summit or snowy-pass crossing. Neighborhoods and lodging

Dar Habiba’s small traditional riad is near Jemaa and Bahia; public room row is a high-floor Triple Room, not an invented king/double. Six-night breakfast-included non-refundable row634 excludes VAT/citytax, derived 737.56. Its property page still lists a COVID proof condition: do not silently treat that as current national law; user must ask if the property actually enforces it. Alternatives and pushback

A simpler Morocco stay is a fair competitor, not automatically a cheaper or better trip.

The strongest priced stay alternative is Emotion in Essaouira, with breakfast and sheltered sitting space, not an assumed cheapest riad. A10-night Marrakech-only Dar lead was actually checked: room-only1039 with free cancellation before11December2026 excludes VAT/citytax, non-refundable breakfast row1222; this cannot be called automatically cheaper than six Dar nights plus Zawia. It removes the coastal contrast and one long move but may win for someone who dislikes packing. Ten-night room-only free cancellation ends before11December2026; Emotion variant component cases7179.94–9292.50 both remain over the firm ceiling at the low end. https://www.booking.com/hotel/ma/riad-emotion.html?checkin=2026-12-31&checkout=2027-01-04&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&selected_currency=USD · https://www.booking.com/hotel/ma/dar-habiba.html?checkin=2026-12-25&checkout=2027-01-04&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&selected_currency=USD · https://www.booking.com/hotel/ma/riad-zawia.html?checkin=2026-12-31&checkout=2027-01-04&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&selected_currency=USD

SFO/OAK/SJC and CMN/RAK in both authorized windows were screened. OAK core CMN economy cards24h18/24h34 fail cap; OAK early RAK27h10 includes airport change. SJC adds a domestic connection, often near24h; core CMN4037 is still only an outbound screen versus selected SFO3978. Early SFO CMN5781 and RAK4612 leads need return/direct checks and add four nights; no savings claim or blanket absence claim is made. https://www.google.com/travel/flights

Long-layover cheap screens and a Sahara loop are the temptations I would resist. Turkish35h+, SWISS29h+ and other over-cap leads do not become sensible because a card is cheaper. Operator’s Merzouga3-day road/camp itinerary adds cold nights/high-pass exposure and multiple long drives; it is a meaningfully different future check, not inserted into the priced circuit. If warm swimming or guaranteed snowy scenery is the main goal, this version of Morocco is the wrong trip. https://www.google.com/travel/flights · https://www.rachidexcursions.com/tours · https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/morocco/safety-and-security

  3. Day 3 · 2026-12-25 · Casablanca → Marrakech

If rested and winter tour runs, use09:00 Hassan II then a brief old-medina orientation/early lunch. Depart in a confirmed city transfer after lunch; arrive Marrakech with time for check-in and a quiet dinner, not another monument queue. Drop the mosque rather than compress airport recovery if arrival slipped.

    Hassan II Mosque guided visit

Why it matters: Official foundation tour explains Moroccan plaster, zellige, carved wood, marble and the prayer/minaret/ablution halls; a major Casablanca landmark.

Why this visit: Earns the arrival-buffer city time instead of making Casablanca only an airport. Skip if official tour/transfer timings cannot both work.

Time: Allow60–90min on site plus ticket wait; this is a planning allocation.. Friday regular winter tours09/10/15; choose09:00 onDec25, check holiday notice and capacity. Modest clothing and the foundation visitor rules; do not infer non-Muslim access to other mosques.

Cost basis: 140MAD/person ×2=280MAD reference; date/slot not reserved.

    Casablanca old-medina/Casa Port neighborhood walk

Why it matters: A living market neighborhood beside transport, rather than a second long excursion.

Why this visit: Short walk for orientation and a meal before the three-hour city transfer; stop if fatigue or streets feel uncomfortable.

Time: 30–45min easy walk, not a guided city tour.. Daylight near Ryad91 and Casa Port; property description places station around1,700ft walk. Access is public; specific shops/holiday openings unknown.

Cost basis: No ticket selected; shopping and any guide not priced, food counted in meals.

Lodging: Dar Habiba night1 of6; six-night Triple Room non-refundable breakfast lead, not a confirmed booking.

    Transfer: Casablanca→Marrakech reference120EUR reverse city-pair check, about3h plus traffic/access; source confirmation required.

Weather alternative: Rain-compatible guided interior if open; otherwise shorten walk, go directly to Marrakech and rest. No unsafe river/mountain substitution.

  4. Day 4 · 2026-12-26 · Marrakech south medina

Spend the morning inside Bahia’s courtyards and decorative spaces, then have a long lunch before the Koutoubia exterior/gardens. Evening is a simple medina dinner and an early return; do not mistake a dense attraction count for a good first full day.

    Bahia Palace

Why it matters: Nineteenth-century palace of courtyards/gardens and Moroccan decorative craft, described and priced by Ministry of Culture.

Why this visit: The decorated domestic spaces make the architecture tangible; pair with a quieter exterior walk rather than another cross-city transfer.

Time: 90min planning allowance.. Regular09:00–17:00 selector; start morningDec26, confirm holiday notice and access/restoration restrictions. Walk from medina-edge stay, no guide included.

Cost basis: 100MAD/foreign adult ×2=200MAD; do not use Moroccan-Friday/holiday free entry.

    Koutoubia exterior and surrounding gardens

Why it matters: UNESCO identifies its minaret and imperial-era urban landmarks as significant components of Marrakech.

Why this visit: An open-air pause after palace interiors and a legible city landmark; exterior only.

Time: 45–60min slow walk.. Daylight public exterior approach; no interior religious access presumed. Rain alternative is riad lunch/rest or photography museum if current hours permit.

Cost basis: No paid interior ticket selected; optional taxi/guide unknown and in surface spending scenario only.

    Lodging: Dar Habiba night2 of6.

Transfer: Mainly walk; taxi alternative remains unquoted local spending, no interior mosque transfer implied.

Weather alternative: Photography museum/riad reading replaces exposed garden time if weather/holiday access intervenes.

  5. Day 5 · 2026-12-27 · Marrakech north medina

Start Ben Youssef early enough to look at the student rooms and craft details slowly. After lunch walk to Secret Garden for water/plant interpretation and optional tower; dinner is the one named Nomad premium meal in the food model.

    Ben Youssef Medersa

Why it matters: Ministry-owned site dates the study complex1564–65 and highlights carved wood, zellige, plaster/calligraphy and former student rooms.

Why this visit: Explains architecture as a place of learning, not simply an ornate photo courtyard.

Time: 75–90min planning allowance.. Regular daily09:00–19:00, official online ticketing under maintenance/on-site purchase; arrive morningDec27 and verify any holiday notice. Walk medina lanes, licensed guide optional and unquoted.

    Cost basis: Official50MAD/person ×2=100MAD.

Le Jardin Secret and optional tower

Why it matters: Historic Islamic/riad garden design and water/architecture interpretation offer a different kind of cultural space.

Why this visit: A sheltered pause after the medersa; tower makes the dense city readable but skip stairs if access is an issue.

Time: 60–90min plus a short cafe pause.. Winter09:30–18:00,last entry17:30. One entry only; own food/drink prohibited; tower not step-free. Dec27 afternoon, holiday special notice check still needed.

Cost basis: 100+40MAD/person ×2=280MAD with tower; cafes in meals, not ticket price.

    Lodging: Dar Habiba night3 of6.

Transfer: Medina walking with navigation/rest buffers; guided routing optional/unpriced.

Weather alternative: Interior courtyard/museum time with a sheltered lunch; tower can be skipped for rain or access.

  6. Day 6 · 2026-12-28 · Marrakech photography and living medina

Begin indoors at Maison de la Photographie, using old images to read what the city has retained and changed. After a lunch/rest break, follow craft lanes toward Jemaa at dusk, observe the change in the square and eat without animal-handler photos or pressure shopping.

    Maison de la Photographie

Why it matters: Museum’s nineteenth/twentieth-century Moroccan photography archive helps interpret people/places beyond souvenir images.

Why this visit: Good indoor winter counterweight; spend time on what has changed rather than trying to see every exhibit.

Time: 75–90min.. Regular daily09:30–19:00,80MAD paid on-site; entry also gives music-museum access, whose separate holiday hours remain unverified. Dec28 morning.

Cost basis: 80MAD/person ×2=160MAD, music-museum access not charged again.

Medina craft lanes and Jemaa el-Fna at dusk

Why it matters: UNESCO calls the medina a living historic town and Jemaa a cultural space of oral/music/food traditions, not only a tourist market.

Why this visit: Observe artisans and the square’s daytime-to-evening change; ask before photographing people and avoid animal-handler photographs.

Time: About90min with breaks.. Dec28 afternoon/dusk, follow a simple daylight route before evening crowds, no guaranteed performance or shop hours. Licensed guide optional/unpriced, avoid isolated lanes after dark.

Cost basis: Public space has no selected ticket; purchases/tips/guide unknown, dinner in meal basket.

    Lodging: Dar Habiba night4 of6.

Transfer: Walking circuit, allow cross-medina navigation time; paid taxi/guide unknown, not promised included.

Weather alternative: Keep the photography visit and a covered cafe/riad afternoon if wet or crowds are tiring.

  7. Day 7 · 2026-12-29 · Marrakech ↔ Ourika, conditional

Only if the exact service and winter conditions are confirmed, take the09:45 Ourika outing for village/viewpoint stops and a guided safe river approach. Pay for lunch separately and return around17:30. Cancel the outing entirely if flood/road/guide advice is adverse; stay in the city rather than chase snow.

    Ourika Valley villages and viewpoints

Why it matters: The foothill river/village landscape provides a regional contrast to Marrakech’s imperial medina.

Why this visit: Serves the nature preference without building the trip around a summit or snowy pass.

Time: Late-morning stops within the published full-day tour; not independent hours.. Dec29 requested service; operator pickup09:45, about1h15 drive, return17:30. No December departures published; written confirmation, licensed local guide and current road/flood check required.

Cost basis: One shared tour18EUR/person ×2=36EUR total, counted ONCE across both Ourika visits; lunch80–120MAD/person extra in meals.

Setti Fatma river/waterfall approach, only if safe

Why it matters: Operator describes a guided rocky30–45min each-way walk along the river; this is scenery, not winter mountaineering.

Why this visit: A flexible nature walk; turn back or remain in a dry safe village if rain/flooding/guide advice says no.

Time: Up to90min walking plus pauses, within the same tour.. No river-table lunch or waterfall access is guaranteed in December. Do not interpret the operator’s “easy” as a safety certification; city museum/garden substitute if unsafe.

Cost basis: Covered by the single36EUR tour reference above, not another36EUR. Tips and unlisted fees unknown.

    Lodging: Dar Habiba night5 of6.

Transfer: One36EUR party shared-tour reference includes round-trip transport and guide; not counted again in ground transport.

Weather alternative: Dry city culture/rest: photography/music-museum access where current hours permit, Secret Garden or riad lounge. No claim to have separately priced a private rescue outing.

  8. Day 8 · 2026-12-30 · Marrakech market-to-kitchen day

Let the morning cooking host explain ingredients in a local market, then prepare and eat the Moroccan menu together. The4–5h class earns most of the day; keep the later afternoon for a short El Badi ruins visit only if regular hours and energy allow, otherwise it is an optional omitted cost at the low scenario.

Morning produce/ingredient market with cooking host

Why it matters: Source explains shopping for vegetables/herbs/spices before a full Moroccan menu, making market food understandable.

Why this visit: Earns time for food culture rather than a souvenir sales circuit; no purchases at a compulsory shop are assumed.

Time: Roughly45–60min as a planning share of the4–5h class.. Dec30 morning10:30 requested class, date/kitchen/meeting point confirmed in writing; market included only morning option. No inquiry is sent by agents.

Cost basis: Included in30EUR/person ×2=60EUR cooking package, counted ONCE for market and kitchen together.

Hands-on Moroccan kitchen and shared lunch

Why it matters: Learn zaalouk/taktouka, lemon chicken/vegetable tagine, pastry and mint tea through actual preparation.

Why this visit: A useful cultural memory to take home. Cookly’s Rachel, Sep2026, confirms the value of hands-on recipe guidance in a different chef class, not this supplier’s certification.

Time: Remaining3–4h of the same4–5h morning class.. Same Dec30 package; confirm dietary needs, exact kitchen, language and written cancellation/payment. Operator states refund of advance payment at least7days before departure.

Cost basis: Same60EUR package, no second charge; two lunches removed from meals.

El Badi Palace ruins, optional after cooking

Why it matters: UNESCO identifies the palace ruins as a significant later architectural component of the imperial medina; the Ministry tariff is100MAD, but its inconsistent copied historical text is not adopted.

Why this visit: Different ruined scale after Bahia’s decorated interiors. Skip if class finishes late, energy is low or weather is poor; low activity case removes it.

Time: 45–60min at most for this optional afternoon visit.. Dec30 only if class ends with enough time before the Ministry regular17:00 closing selector; otherwise omit rather than compress. Walkable south-medina stop; no guide included.

Cost basis: 100MAD/foreign adult ×2=200MAD in central activities; removed from low case.

  9. Day 9 · 2026-12-31 · Marrakech → Essaouira

Leave Marrakech after breakfast in the confirmed road transfer. Check into the coast stay within its stated window, get bearings around the medina/main square and look at the working port from safe approaches. Keep New Year’s Eve a normal pre-confirmed dinner, not an invented ticketed party or guaranteed spectacle.

Essaouira medina and Place Moulay Hassan orientation

Why it matters: UNESCO describes the eighteenth-century fortified seaport and its international/Amazigh/Arab/African/European trade/cultural history.

Why this visit: A calmer scale after Marrakech; learn the gates and easy return route to Zawia before evening.

Time: 60min relaxed arrival walk.. Dec31 after roughly2h30 road transfer plus access buffers; Zawia check-in14:00–18:00, holiday arrival/porter check. No guaranteed New Year street program.

Cost basis: No ticket selected; porter/local purchases unquoted and shown in surface scenario.

Working fishing port from public approaches

Why it matters: The port is central to the town’s maritime identity, not simply a film backdrop.

Why this visit: Watch working boats without purchasing/handling fish or climbing unsafe edges. Kim Roberts’ restaurant-menu seafood caution shapes the meal plan.

Time: 45–60min in daylight.. Dec31 orJan1 access depends on weather/working operations; do not enter restricted areas. Wind/rain alternative is medina cafe/riad rest.

Cost basis: No paid port tour selected; any protected/ticketed rampart is separately priced.

Lodging: Riad Zawia night1 of4, King Suite lead, breakfast excluded; user verifies room/terms.

    Transfer: Reference70EUR vehicle, about2h30 plus riad access/porter. No airport-flight self-transfer today.

Weather alternative: Medina cafe/riad lounge if windy/wet; do not stand on exposed harbor edges for a photo.

  10. Day 10 · 2027-01-01 · Essaouira port and fortified city

Start slowly after breakfast bought separately. If the official holiday notice permits, visit the ticketed Sqala du Port for its defensive plan, then observe the working-port frontage. Return for a restaurant-menu seafood lunch and a sheltered afternoon; New Year closures can shorten the day without spoiling it.

    Sqala du Port fortified viewpoint

Why it matters: Ministry describes defensive wings protecting the port, with views toward the quay/archipelago.

Why this visit: One paid viewpoint is enough to understand the fortified seaport; skip exposed edges in rough conditions.

Time: 45–60min.. Jan1 regular09:00–17:00 selector, confirm special holiday opening and wind/rain conditions. Free Moroccan holiday admission not applicable.

    Cost basis: 60MAD/foreign adult ×2=120MAD.

    Lodging: Riad Zawia night2 of4.

Transfer: Mostly walk, two different port views but only one paid fortification ticket.

Weather alternative: If wind/holiday closure blocks Sqala, use public medina lanes and riad rest; no alternative ticket silently invented.

  11. Day 11 · 2027-01-02 · Essaouira beach walk and new town

Use daylight for a beach promenade walk, not a swimming promise. After warming up in a cafe, explore a small new-town food/produce/bakery circuit as a contrast to souvenir streets, then return for a quiet evening. Choose shorter walks if Atlantic wind is unpleasant.

    Essaouira beach promenade, walking only

Why it matters: The town’s sandy Atlantic frontage and wind/water-sport identity contrast with the inland city.

Why this visit: Beach preference served honestly as a long walk, not promised bathing weather.

Time: 60–90min with a cafe stop.. Jan2 late morning daylight near town, no swimming/exposed isolated coast. Strong current/limited lifeguard warning applies; retreat inland if wind/rain is unpleasant.

Cost basis: No paid beach activity chosen; cafe in meals. No assumed free surf/horse activity.

El Borj/new-town food and everyday-life circuit

Why it matters: Kim Roberts contrasts the new-town produce shops/bakeries with souvenir-focused medina streets.

Why this visit: A modest daily-life/food contrast, not another paid attraction; pick one open cafe and ask for the menu price.

Time: About60min; walking route length is a planning choice.. Jan2 daylight; exact shop hours/menus not verified. No claim that every street is safe; follow FCDO cautions and hotel’s current route advice.

Cost basis: Local meal uses explicitly labelled Marrakech-menu spending proxy; actual coastal menu remains a check.

    Lodging: Riad Zawia night3 of4.

Transfer: Walkable city circuit; farther taxi destination/pricing remains a user check.

Weather alternative: Stay inland with a current-menu cafe/riad afternoon, no water sports or remote beach commitment.

  12. Day 12 · 2027-01-03 · Essaouira slow craft/rest day

Watch a few medina craft/woodworking shops in the morning, with permission for photos. After a long lunch, revisit the sea-wall approach only in calm daylight and take a cafe/reading break. Four coastal nights deliberately buy weather slack; anyone bored by slow repeated walks should choose the shorter/simpler alternative instead.

Medina artisan/thuya-wood workshop lanes near the sea wall

Why it matters: UNESCO supports the fortified urban craft/trade setting; independent voices describe shops and souvenirs within the medina.

Why this visit: Slow craft observation rather than a commissioned shopping tour. Skip purchases unless wanted.

Time: 60–90min with rest breaks.. Jan3 morning/afternoon, ask permission before entering workshops/photos; exact openings unknown. Riad reading/lounge is wet-weather fallback.

Cost basis: No ticket/guide purchased; souvenirs excluded, not implicitly free.

Skala de la Ville sea-facing public approach and medina cafe

Why it matters: The seaward fortification/promenade reveals the town’s military-maritime design.

Why this visit: A last unhurried coast afternoon with time to pack, not a second ticketed Sqala du Port charge.

Time: 45–60min, stop earlier if weather turns.. Jan3 daylight; distinguish public approach from any ticketed/restricted area. Avoid exposed wall/rocks in surf; no storm viewing promised.

Cost basis: No extra paid rampart ticket selected; if access is charged, check tariff rather than invent zero.

    Lodging: Riad Zawia night4 of4.

Transfer: Local walking, purchases/guide not included; pack tonight for tomorrow’s transfer.

Weather alternative: Riad lounge/reading and a short sheltered food outing are the genuine rest fallback.

What Travelers Say

Earlier December can be quieter, but Christmas/New Year is busier; coastal evenings and inland nights need layers. Confirms the winter-walk plan, not an exact2026 weather or price forecast.

Compact walkable coast but wind/cold rough water and unappealing swimming; prefers restaurant-menu seafood over tourist market/grill rituals. Changes beach expectations and meal style; old fare/absolute safety claims not adopted.

A return stay had a small room for two and disappointing breakfast compared with other riads. Complicates the property’s strong overall score and makes room-size/heating/refundable access checks matter.

  • Actual airline-direct bag-inclusive party fare, refund/change terms and protected short CDG connections.
  • Exact obtainable public Ryad91 rates and each stay’s final VAT/city-tax/room/refund/access/heating details; Emotion VAT source conflict.
  • Insurance policy/premium and supported origin/local surface totals; unsupported cost scenarios prevent value ranking.
  • Central total above firm7,000; low scenario is not proof that the exact holiday trip fits.
  • Exact Dec29 Ourika andDec30 cooking departures, winter road/flood/guide safety; holiday notices/capacity for each paid venue.
  • Individual eVisa approval/passport selectors and required insurance; actual US re-entry documents not inspected despite user-attested valid stamps.
  • Skyscanner-first policy not completed independently for every later route/window lane after two CAPTCHA blocks; screens/direct coverage remain partial.
  • Majorelle paid entry/official-ticket host failed TLS; optional unpriced swap, not included in main total.
  • Two genuine independent review rounds are retained. Round2 source approved its then-current draft; consistency rejected, coverage/opportunities requested changes. This final corrected draft invalidates those approvals and awaits further independent review. No clean approval is claimed.

Your Action Plan

Resolve high-priority checks before nonrefundable commitments. Verified routing, inclusive prices and eligibility can change the value assessment; changed hours or weather can change the itinerary.

  1. High priority: Price the complete Air France/KLM fare, both directions, with actual bag choices and fare restrictions.

Why: Aggregator 3,978 is not a direct inclusive charge; one-hour CDG return is a disruption risk.

How to check: Use the same SFO/CMN core dates and two-adult controls at https://wwws.airfrance.us/search/advanced or https://www.klm.com/search/advanced; if engines still stall, user can ask airline to verify ticket/through-bag/connection/fare conditions without treating the old total as available.

Decision impact: A higher total or unsupported connection removes this version; lower verified airfare is the biggest chance of staying within 7,000.

  2. High priority: Confirm exact room totals, access/heating and refund terms without relying on member discounts.

Why: Dar is non-refundable; Ryad displayed members-only reductions; local taxes are excluded; Zawia room names differ from direct.

How to check: Compare the exact Dar Dec25–31, Zawia Dec31–Jan4, and two Ryad dates using the linked public room tables; user should request written VAT/city-tax, room, late arrival/early checkout and payment/refund terms.

Decision impact: Refundable Dar substitute or credible public Ryad rate may change the budget; an extra VAT/payment fee worsens it. Switch properties rather than assume benefits cover the gap.

  3. High priority: Complete official eVisa process for each ordinary Indian passport and confirm insurance/document evidence.

Why: Category A eligibility is not an approved visa; application errors are excluded from published service time.

How to check: At https://www.acces-maroc.ma/#/e-visa, user checks the ordinary-passport Category A route, 35×45 photo, clear passport scan, current passport selector and official fee; no agent login/application/payment. Use official terms linked beside entry.

Decision impact: If eligibility/passport validity cannot be met or visa refused, do not buy this trip. Valid stamps are user-attested; check each traveler’s re-entry evidence separately.

  4. High priority: Reconcile all inclusive charges against the firm 7,000 party ceiling.

Why: Central working cost is above the ceiling and low case contains unsupported spending scenarios.

How to check: Replace baggage, insurance and surface scenarios with written values, retain a disruption reserve, recompute the six cost lines; no Chase credit or points subtraction.

Decision impact: Only verified total ≤7,000 can change this from a conditional inspection to a user-verification candidate; no budget increase is assumed.

  5. Medium priority: Confirm core surface legs and holiday/02:00 pickup availability.

Why: Reference 2025 tariff pages are not date-specific bookings, and supplier disclaims missed-flight liability.

    How to check: Ask chosen licensed operator for Dec24 CMN→Casablanca, Dec25 Casablanca→Marrakech, Dec31 Marrakech→Essaouira, Jan4 Essaouira→Casablanca, Jan5 approx02:00→CMN, two passengers, actual luggage, tolls, waiting/payment/cancellation. ONCF/CTM are separate repricing checks.

Decision impact: Unavailable early pickup requires airport-area positioning; cheaper confirmed train/coach can help cost but not justify a risky same-day international connection.

  6. Medium priority: Check cooking and Ourika service dates, local safety and holiday venue notices.

Why: Published tour prices do not publish December departures; winter river paths can flood.

How to check: Use exact Dec29 Ourika and Dec30 cooking service/date checks at their public operator pages; verify licensed guide/insurance and no river walk in rain. Confirm venue winter hours on official links.

Decision impact: Cancel/substitute Ourika with Photography/Secret Garden if unsafe; do not promise snow, waterfall access or a daily tour.

  7. Low priority: Check Chase Travel availability personally, but choose the better stay first.

Why: Public Chase evidence supports Royal Mansour The Edit, not any shortlisted independent riad.

How to check: User may check their own Chase portal for exact shortlisted properties and conditions. Agents do not sign in.

Decision impact: Portal availability may add upside, not a price deduction or reason to replace a clearly better value stay.

Limitations And Freshness

Research expires after 30 days; price snapshots become historical after 24 hours. Always recheck current availability. Failed or incomplete checks are not confirmed facts.

  • Actual researcher model identity is unverified; configured model is not runtime proof.
  • Regular browser canvas used; cookie and login isolation are unknown.
  • Skyscanner was genuinely attempted on two SFO core airport pairs and stopped at CAPTCHA without solving. Later origin/window Google screens did not get independent Skyscanner-first attempts; source-order exception disclosed, not invented.
  • Air France and KLM public handoffs kept requested core route/dates/two adults but search control remained loading; no airline-direct inclusive quote. Aer Lingus could not validate requested destination and had no matched return.
  • Outward flight screen round-trip displays are not selected-return offers, inclusive bag quotes, proof of available fare or authorization to buy.
  • Casablanca room tables show members-only reductions; original public reference amounts are not verified obtainable no-login offers. Direct room matches/final holiday totals and Emotion VAT conflict unresolved.
  • Food outside Marrakech uses menu-derived spending proxies, not independently priced coastal/Casablanca menus. Origin/local surface, bag fees and insurance include explicit unsupported scenarios; do not rank value from them.
  • Current holiday notices, exact tour departures and future weather forecasts are not obtained. Weather analysis is climatology/seasonal source evidence, not a forecast.
  • Repository validation-format source checks were UNINDEXED: Scout repository-not-found twice; read-only native fallback used. No index-specific impact/test-coverage claims.
  • Two independent review rounds produced changes requested, including one primary coverage compaction failure followed by genuine Sonnet fallback. Final corrections are researcher-prepared and have not received four current-hash approvals.
